As most of you know a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the poverty stricken country of Haiti today. The quake was centered about 10 miles from the country’s capital, Port-Au-Prince. As of this post details are still sketchy on the damage and casualties incurred.

If you would like to help the people of Haiti you should take a look at Planting Peace run by Aaron Jackson. Planting Peace runs orphanages, a deworming program and other humanitarian needs in Haiti. They have dewormed millions of children in Haiti. Also, their orphanages are located in the Port-Au-Prince area. Aaron was featured on CNN Heroes.

I received an email tonight from Aaron who said they would be working to bring food, water, and shelter to earthquake victims. You can make donations at www.plantingpeace.org
